First release on LP with cat.# ECM 1093 in 1977.
Recorded December 1976 at Talent Studios, Oslo.
The windharp heard on this record (on tracks 1, 3, and 6) was built by Norwegian Sverre Larssen. It is an instrument with strings that are brought to vibrate by the wind, thereby creating tones and overtones, which, in turn, are enhanced in a resonant body...this instrument react directly to the air stream and create this sound image of the wind.
The wind was recorded by Jan Erik Kongshaus on the coast of Southern Norway, a place particularly suitable because of the unending gusts of wind coming in from the North Sea.
